We are a very traditional, small, but growing congregation.

First Lutheran Church in Lufkin was founded February 27, 1941.

Our Pastor is Rev. Kenneth Bunge. His wife, Carol, is our organist.

We have a committed congregational body, but we have room for and welcome more.

Our mission is:

Serving the Lord with gladness...

Reaching out to others,

Nurturing our own,

Worshipping HIm.

Statement on Holy Communion : Scripture teaches that the Lord's Supper is a precious gift of God in which Christ gives us His true body and blood (in a miraculous way), together with the bread and wine, for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of our faith. If you have not communed with us before or are not a member of another congregation of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, please speak with the pastor before communing. An elder will assist you.

If you are joining us for worship and are not able to commune with us, you are welcome to come to the altar and receive a blessing. Please cross your arms in front of you to let the Pastor know.
